Hi,

How can i rename files to another directory?

Currently if i try to rename file i receive the following error message:
553 Error, Rename only works in the same directory

It's very inconvenient. It there is any way to move file from one folder to another?

All other ftp servers allows to rename/move files without any problems.

Thank You!

We will check this problem. However, if you use any GUI-based FTP client software, you should be able to easily drag and drop files to another folder. If you have DriveHQ FileManager 4.0, you can also easily drag and drop files.

Otherwise, you can also use the web-based service; you can simply cut & past the files using the web-based toolbar.

If you have to use command-line FTP, you can copy the file and then delete the original.

I have the same problem, which is causing me some headaches with an automated system I'm using.

I have found however, that you can rename in-place, or move a file without renaming, but trying to do both fails.

E.g.
Works:
RNFR /mypic.jpg
RNTO /foobar/mypic.jpg

but

Doesn't work:
RNFR /mypic.jpg
RNTO /foobar/anothername.jpg

It would be fantastic if this could get looked at.
