Hi, I notice that my backup tasks have disappeared; all data stille seems to be on your servers, but there's no tasks in my task list on the client app anymore.

How can I get those tasks in there again (without an iniital upload, of course...)?

Thanks,

Rick

Subject: Re: Backup task gone

We are very sorry about the problem. The problem happens very rarely, but it could happen this way: We recently updated DriveHQ Online Backup task list file format; the newer version software supports older version format, but not vice versa. If you use DriveHQ Online Backup on multiple PCs, and if you have upgraded to the latest version on one PC only, then the older version Online Backup on another PC could fail to read the newer version task list file on our server, causing loss of backup tasks. So it is recommended to upgrade both PCs at the same time and log off DriveHQ Online Backup before you upgrade. (The problem is fixed now.)

Now if the task list is already lost, please follow the instruction below to re-create the backup task:

First of all, please note loss of backup task list info does not affect your files already backed up. So your data remains safe. If you need to restore your files, you can still use DriveHQ FileManager, FTP or www.drivehq.com to download files.

To re-create the backup tasks without uploading files again, you just need to re-create the same backup tasks; make sure you use the same source folder(s) and the same backup task name.

After you finish re-creating the backup task, start the task. It will compare files already on server with your local source files. If the files are the same, then upload is skipped. So it should be much faster than uploading all files again.

-----------

If you forgot the backup task name(s) or source folder(s) info, you can find the info using DriveHQ FileManager or the website. Please look at the backup destination folder (usually:

   \DriveHQData\DriveHQ WWWBackup\Data\

-----------

Please note both DriveHQ FileManager and DriveHQ Online Backup can automatically skip uploading / downloading if the same file is already in the destination folder.

Thanks that worked, although initially it did start the initial backup again; had to cancel that and restart the task, after which it only performed the check and uploaded only hte chnged files.
